Manchester City will look to bounce back from a weekend defeat when they face Shakhtar Donetsk at the OSK Metalist Stadion in Group C of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday 18 September 2019. The match is one of 16 across the continent of Europe, as part of Matchday 1 this midweek.
Shakhtar racked up a seventh successive win in the Ukrainian Premier League when they beat Zorya in a 4-2 thriller this past weekend. Forward Junior Moraes scored two goals, including an 89
th minute winner.
Man City, meanwhile, suffered a shock 3-2 defeat away to promoted side Norwich City in the Premier League on Saturday. The Citizens’ first defeat of the season leaves them five points behind log leaders and main title rivals Liverpool.
