The Red Devils are unbeaten in 13 league matches and set to end the campaign in second spot. A 0-0 draw at Leeds United, though, did end United's five-game winning run and left them 10 points behind Manchester City in first.
"We have to win every single game to put pressure on City," said United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer . "This is two points dropped that makes them [City] very safe. But we push on.
"We have two semis coming up (both legs of the Europa League tie) and Liverpool in the middle. It was a difficult week last week but it is the business end of the season. You work so that every game matters."
While United are destined for Uefa Champions League football next season, Liverpool's chances took a further blow after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle United last time out.
The Reds, who are sixth, are unbeaten in five matches but their failure to put games to bed has cost them heavily in recent weeks.
"We scored a wonderful goal, didn’t finish the game off. We didn’t play enough," said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after his team conceded a stoppage-time equaliser to Newcastle.
“If you deserve, you deserve it. I didn’t see us deserve it today playing in the Champions League next year.”
