2019-20 La Liga

3-6 July 2020
Round 34

Valencia will look to boost their hopes of playing European football next season when they face hosts Granada at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes on Saturday 4 July 2020, kick-off at 22:00. The match is one of 10 spread across 3-6 July as part of La Liga’s Round 34 action.

Granada will have been in action on Wednesday night in a clash away to Deportivo Alaves, as they look to end a lean run of form which has seen their hopes of playing in Europe next season fade badly in recent weeks.

“It is difficult to have continuity in these matches and with the heat if you get behind on the scoreboard it costs you more. At the moment when we do not have a good day or we are not at our best in all facets, we suffer, that's why I place so much value on the situation we are in,” said El Grana manager Diego Martinez.

Valencia will come into the clash on the back of a home match against Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday evening. Los Che have struggled for consistency since the resumption of the league last month and are in a tough scrap to earn a place in next season’s UEFA Europa League.

They sacked manager Albert Celades earlier in the week and have installed Voro Gonzalez to lead the first team until the end of the season. “Valencia CF have communicated to Albert Celades his removal from his position as the first-team coach, with immediate effect,” the club said in a statement.

In head-to-head stats, Granada and Valencia have met in 16 matches across all competitions. Los Che have dominated the rivalry, claiming 13 wins and suffering just one less to El Grana.

When the teams met in La Liga earlier this season, Valencia claimed a 2-0 win at Estadio Mestalla in November 2019 thanks to goals from Daniel Wass and Ferran Torres.
