2019/20 Premier League
Round 15
3-5 December 2019
Brighton & Hove Albion will chase an upset result away to Arsenal when the teams meet at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday 5 December 2019, kick-off at 22:15. The match is one of 10 spread from 3-5 December in the 15th round of the current Premier League season.
Arsenal’s first game since the departure of manager Unai Emery ended in a 2-2 draw away to Norwich City, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting twice. The Gunners are placed eighth, a full seven points adrift of the top four.
“Like you see, people drop points here and there, and we drop points. It’s a crazy league at the moment. I hope and think Arsenal can finish in the top four,” said caretaker boss Freddie Ljungberg, who added: Now the players need to recover and we probably get one and a half [training sessions] again before the next game. I just try to make it as simple as possible for the players and hopefully we can get better.”

Brighton, meanwhile, were beaten 2-1 at league leaders Liverpool, though they did give the Reds a scare late on when goalkeeper Alisson was red carded. Nonetheless, the Seagulls are just two places and three points above the relegation zone.
“Lots of positives but still disappointed to come away with nothing but it wasn't to be,” said manager Graham Potter, who added: “There was enough signs there that we could do better we just had to play a little bit better and believe in ourselves a bit more.”
In head-to-head stats, Arsenal and Brighton have met in 14 previous matches. The Gunners have claimed eight wins compared to three for the Seagulls, while three games have been drawn.
The teams’ Premier League meetings last season both ended in draws, 1-1 at the AmEx Stadium in December 2018 and 1-1 at the Emirates Stadium in May 2019. The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last three league matches against the Gunners.
