The
Zambia Super League champions Red Arrows have a tough game against TP Mazembe of RD Congo on Saturday 21
st September in Congo. It is the CAF Champions League preliminary second round second leg.
They have a huge mountain to climb as they lost at home last weekend by two goals to nil. TP Mazembe’s experience played a huge role in their win a way from home. The Zambian side, Red Arrows, had their moments they created so many chances but failed to convert them.
Arrows are the only Zambian side representing the country in CAF competition. Zesco United got eliminated in the first round.
Arrow’s will need to score three unanswered goals which seems farfetched as most Zambian fans are saying. Many teams have had difficulties beating the Congolese giants at their home ground in Lubumbashi.
Red Arrows assistant coach Kalililo Kakonje acknowledged that overcoming a 2-0 deficit against TP Mazembe will be a significant challenge, but he expressed confidence that his players are ready for the task as the two teams face off tomorrow in Lubumbashi.
"TP Mazembe is one of the biggest and most experienced teams in Africa, so tomorrow will be tough, but we will give it our best. I know the stadium will be packed with home fans, but that’s something we expect. The boys are in high spirits, fully aware of what lies ahead, and ready to rise to the occasion."
Kakonje made these remarks during the pre-match media conference in Lubumbashi, ahead of tomorrow's game.
