Atletico Madrid will look to pile the pain on Real Betis when the teams meet at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday 11 July 2020. The match is one of 10 spread across 11-13 July as part of La Liga’s Round 36 action.
Atletico stuttered somewhat in midweek when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Celta Vigo, though they still enjoy a clear points margin to fifth place and should qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League with ease.
“Their equaliser forced us to go back and look for more opportunities, but it was difficult to create chances. We remain on course to finish in the top four, but I hope to see an improvement in the result when we play again on the weekend.”

Betis will be in action on Wednesday night when they host Osasuna. The Seville-based club has struggled for form since the restart and dropped way down the standings, though they have enough points in the bag to be safe from relegation.
The Verdiblancos have reached an agreement with Manuel Pellegrini to take over the managerial reigns, though his influence on the team will only truly be felt from the 2020-21 season onward. For now, Betis must simply try to get through the season under acting coach Alexis Trujillo.
In head-to-head stats, Atletico and Betis have met in 46 matches across all competitions. The Rojiblancos have claimed 21 wins compared to 12 for the Seville-based team, while 13 games have been drawn.
When the teams met in La Liga earlier this season, Atletico claimed a 2-1 away win at Estadio Benito Villamarin in December 2019 thanks to goals from Angel Correa and Alvaro Morata.
