Elena Rybakina will be keen to end her hoodoo against Barbora Krejcikova in the semi-finals of the 2024 Wimbledon on 11 July.
 
Previous round 
 
Rybakina was in her element in the quarter-finals as she claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Ukraine's Elina Svitolina to reach the semi-finals on 10 July.
 
Krejcikova, on the other hand, came from 4-1 down in the second set to reach the semi-finals with a 6-4, 7-6(4) defeat of Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko on 10 July.
 
Wimbledon record
 
Rybakina won the Wimbledon title in 2022 after she defeated Ons Jabeur of Tunisia in the final, 3–6, 6–2, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title.
 
The Russian-born Kazakhstani has won eight titles on the WTA Tour, including two WTA 1000 titles at the 2023 Indian Wells Open and the 2023 Italian Open.
 
While Krejcikova is also enjoying her best performance in this competition having reached the singles semi-finals for the first time. 
 
The Czech star has won one Grand Slam singles title (2021 French Open) and ten major doubles titles, including the career Super Slam in women's doubles.
 
What was said 
 
“I have amazing memories from 2022 and I enjoy it every time I’m on this court,” Rybakina said after her win over Svitolina in the quarter-finals. 
 
“I don’t like being called the favourite but I have an aggressive game.”
 
Head-to-Head record
 
This will be the third meeting between Rybakina and Krejcikova in a professional tournament.
 
Krejcikova boasts of an unbeaten record against Rybakina having recorded two wins over her rival.
 
Their last meeting saw Krejcikova edged out Rybakina 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 to move into the final of the Ostrava Open in October 2022.
