Their last clash ended in a 4-0 win in favour of Germany in the 2014 FIFA World Cup game which was played at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis in June 2014.
Diogo Jota, the Portugal striker, says they are ready to start their EURO title defence with a win over Hungary on June 15 before they face Germany.
"We want to start this EURO with a win. Our motivation is as good as possible, it couldn't be higher. Despite the injuries I've had this season I had a good number of games, so I'm ready to perform at my best," Jota said.
"Goals fascinate me, I always try to [score]. It's an aspect of the game I like to work on, the way to approach it. I hope these qualities show up now.
"We have a lot of quality up front and everywhere else. It's good to cause problems for the coach when he has to decide. My role is to be ready to help whenever needed."
