Switzerland will lock horns with Spain in the
2020 UEFA EURO quarter-final match at the Krestovsky Stadium on July 2.
The Red Crosses secured a hard-fought 5-4 win over France on penalties following a 3-3 draw in their Round of 16 game which was played on June 28.
As a result, Switzerland are now undefeated in their last two matches across all competitions having registered two successive wins.

Meanwhile, Spain fought back to defeat Croatia 5-3 in their Round of 16 match which took place on June 28.
The Red Fury are now unbeaten in their last 12 matches across all competitions having recorded six victories and six draws.
The last meeting between Switzerland and Spain was on 14 November 2020.
The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Nations League match that was played at St. Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland.

Luis Enrique, the Spain head coach, hailed his players' character as his side recovered from a nightmare start then let slip a two-goal lead before finally beating Croatia 5-3 in extra time.
"It was a very intense game today that really had everything. Everyone saw our true team spirit today," Enrique said.
"When the word ego disappears and the word team appears, of course it's fantastic to be part of a group like that.
"Those final 10 minutes are something we have to learn from. We don't have that much international experience within the squad, and perhaps those kinds of mistakes are inevitable."
