Rory McIlroy will be looking to make it three victories in his last four appearances at the
Canadian Open.
What to know about McIlroy
The Northern Irish superstar turned professional in 2007 as an 18-year-old and he has gone to impressively win 40 professional tournaments globally.
McIlroy has won 26 PGA Tour events and he won the 2011 US Open, 2012 PGA Championship, 2014 Open Championship and 2014 PGA Championship.

The man nicknamed Wee-Mac took a short break from competitive golf after competing in the 2024 PGA Championship where he finished 12th.
McIlroy is currently placed third on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) and he spent over 100 weeks as the world number one.
Why McIlroy is among the favourites
The 35-year-old has been crowned Canadian Open champion twice - winning the 2019 event by seven strokes ahead of Shane Lowry and Webb Simpson.
McIlroy then successfully returned his trophy when the tournament made its return in 2022 and this time he won by two strokes ahead of Tony Finau.

"I've never won a tournament three times in a row. I felt like last year the win wasn't just for me it was for a few other things.
“But this one, this year, if I were able to get over the line, will be solely for me.”
